About You

You've led a technical, operational or partner-facing function at scale — ideally somewhere that carrier, logistics, or complex B2B integrations played a central role — and you know what it takes to run a team that both builds things and manages relationships. You're as comfortable setting an operating model and negotiating with a partner as you are sitting with engineering on delivery timelines. You see AI and automation as practical tools for removing friction from a complex process, not just a talking point, and you've probably already led a team through that kind of change. You're structured and decisive, protective of your team's focus, and just as effective explaining trade-offs to an executive audience as you are coaching a manager through a tough call.

Purpose of Role

Carrier connectivity is central to nShift's value proposition. A team of around 30 integration specialists builds and maintains our library of 1,000+ carrier connections, while a dedicated carrier partnerships team manages the commercial and operational relationship with carriers themselves. This role brings both functions together under one leader, giving nShift a single point of accountability for carrier integrations, carrier relationships, and the AI-driven transformation of how that work gets done.

Overall Responsibility

The Director of Carrier Integrations & Partnerships will lead the full carrier organisation and report to the Chief Customer Officer. Depending on the candidate’s experience and seniority, the role may be positioned at Senior Director level. It's a hands-on role combining operating-model design, AI-led transformation, delivery leadership, carrier relationship oversight, and close collaboration with Sales, Support and Professional Services.

Competence and Experience

The area of responsibility includes:

· Carrier Relationship Management

o Own nShift's operational relationship with carrier partners, applying the right level of proactive attention based on customer impact.

o Build a proactive approach to carrier-side changes, so issues are anticipated rather than discovered after the fact.

o Maintain a clear, reliable view of carrier service availability across products for Sales, Support and customers.

· AI-Driven Transformation & Operating Model

o Lead the adoption of AI and automation to make carrier integration faster and more scalable.

o Define the target operating model for the carrier function, clarifying ownership across Carrier, Professional Services, Product and Engineering.

o Establish clear commercial boundaries between standard platform carrier work and bespoke, customer-funded work.

o Introduce metrics that track meaningful progress — effort and reliability, not just volume.

· Delivery & Engineering Coordination

o Own end-to-end delivery coordination for carrier work across the team and Engineering, including dependencies, timelines and release readiness.

o Partner with Product and Engineering on the roadmap for carrier tooling and automation.

o Introduce earlier validation on new carrier requirements to reduce late-stage delivery risk.

· People Leadership

o Lead, coach and develop the team leads and their teams across integration delivery and carrier partnerships.

o Build a resilient team structure that avoids over-reliance on a small number of individuals.

o Support internal talent development alongside external hiring.

· Stakeholder Management & Enablement

o Set clear triage boundaries with Support, Professional Services and Sales so specialists focus on genuine carrier work.

o Partner with Support and CX leadership on escalation root-cause analysis.

o Raise carrier literacy across the business so non-specialist teams can handle the basics themselves.

o Represent the carrier function in executive and cross-functional forums.

Key Requirements

· Experience & Background

o 10+ years experience leading a technical integration, platform, or partner/carrier management function, ideally in SaaS, e-commerce or logistics technology.

o Track record leading teams through operating-model change or automation-driven transformation.

o Experience navigating senior leadership environments, internally and externally, influencing executive stakeholders, and translating complex operational issues into clear business decisions.

o Experience owning a partner or vendor relationship function, including tiered relationship management.

o Working knowledge of carrier or logistics connectivity concepts, sufficient to make credible calls alongside engineering and product — deep hands-on integration experience is an advantage but not required.

o Experience coordinating delivery across multiple engineering teams.
