Senior Institutional KYC Analyst

We are looking to expand our Institutional KYC Team at our headquarters in Copenhagen.

As our new Senior Analyst, you will be part of a specialized team working with onboarding and ongoing due diligence of complex and high-risk clients within the funds and correspondent banking space.

The role is focused on conducting in-depth due diligence, identifying and mitigating financial crime risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations across onboarding and ongoing due diligence across our global footprint. You will play a key role in handling complex ownership structures, cross-border risks, and institutional setups while maintaining a strong client experience.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Financial Crime Prevention, Institutional Business, and other stakeholders in Saxo Group to ensure a robust, compliant, and efficient onboarding journey for complex clients.

Responsibilities

• End to end ownership of the operational handling of clients in accordance with KYC procedures, Global Minimum KYC requirements, and Saxo Group’s Risk Appetite.
• Perform end-to-end onboarding and ODD with a focus on institutional clients, including funds, financial institutions, and correspondent-like setups.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on complex structures, including layered ownership, cross-border activities, and high-risk jurisdictions.
• Analyse business models, transaction flows, and source of wealth/funds for institutional clients.
• Build and share knowledge within the team on institutional onboarding, AML risks, and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure high quality and timely delivery in line with SLAs and internal controls.
• Identify risks, gaps, and areas for improvement in processes, controls, and systems.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across compliance, risk, and front office to ensure aligned and consistent decision-making.

Your profile

You have solid experience within AML/KYC, with a strong focus on institutional clients such as financial institutions, funds, or correspondent banking relationships or equivalent clients.

You understand complex ownership structures, fund setups, and cross-border risk exposures, and you are comfortable applying a risk-based approach in high-complexity cases. You are used to working with enhanced due diligence and can independently assess AML risks and make well-argued recommendations.

We Expect

• Experience with AML and KYC of institutional clients, preferably from banking, asset management, insurance or funds.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to financial institutions and complex client types.
• Ability to analyse and document complex cases in a clear and structured way.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS (ACAMS), ICA or equivalent are an advantage.

You are detail-oriented, structured, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. At the same time, you are a strong team player who can work across functions and challenge stakeholders when needed.

You communicate clearly and professionally in English.
