Student Analyst, Research - Newsec Advisory - Newsec Danmark

Our Research team in Kongens Lyngby is responsible for market intelligence, data, and analysis that underpin advice given across the business to investors, lenders, corporates, developers, and public institutions alike.

We are seeking a Student Analyst to join our Research team alongside your studies. In this role, you will support experienced colleagues with market research and analysis, and, from time to time, support colleagues on transactions with the groundwork behind them, such as sourcing comparables and building pitch decks, gaining hands-on exposure to real assignments while completing your degree.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated student to build a strong foundation in real estate research and analysis, working alongside an ambitious and growing team in Denmark.

Key Responsibilities
Research & market analysis
- Support the team in gathering, structuring, and analyzing market data, including pricing, yields, transactions, and sector trends.

- Contribute to research notes, market reports, and internal knowledge sharing.

- Help maintain and develop internal databases and data processes.

- Assist in preparing presentations and client-facing research material.

Occasional support to transaction-facing teams
- Beyond your core research work, you will from time-to-time support colleagues on transactions with the groundwork behind them: sourcing and structuring market comparables, lease data, and operating costs.

- Help build pitch decks and support with market data for client presentations.

- Assist with data gathering and formation of financial models used on assignments, under the guidance of senior colleagues.

Collaboration across the business
- Work closely with Research colleagues as well as colleagues in other teams on assignments.

- Participate in internal meetings, and occasionally client meetings, as relevant.

- Build relationships across Newsec's business lines, including Valuation, Capital Markets, Leasing, and Property Asset Management, to gain a broad understanding of the business.

Learning & development
- Receive structured mentoring and hands-on training from experienced colleagues.

- Develop technical skills within real estate data analysis, research, and valuation.

- Contribute fresh perspectives and support a positive, collaborative team culture.

Person Specification
Qualifications & experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field; for example Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or similar.

- Some exposure to market research, financial modelling, or real estate (through coursework, prior internships, or personal interest) is an advantage but not required.

- An interest in capital markets and valuation work, not just research, is a plus, given the occasional exposure to transaction assignments.

- Available to work part-time alongside your studies, with flexibility around exam periods.

Technical skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; good Excel skills, with willingness to develop advanced modelling capability.

- Comfortable working with datasets and quantitative/qualitative analysis.

- Interest in learning valuation software (e.g., Forbury, Argus Enterprise/Developer) is an advantage.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

Professional skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Structured and proactive approach, with the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines.

- Curious and eager to learn, comfortable asking questions and taking feedback on board.

- High level of integrity and professionalism, consistent with Newsec's values.

Language requirements
- High-level proficiency in Danish and English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities in both languages.
