Payment Specialist - Card Present

Our payment infrastructure processes more than one and half million transactions daily, and we’re looking for a Payment Specialist to help ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of our in-house payment platform.

We’re looking for a Payment Specialist with at least one year of experience to join our Payment Team in Herlev.
Your primary focus will be our Card Present payment platform and Flatpay’s  in-house Payment Application . You’ll play a key role in testing new functionality, investigating transaction issues, monitoring payment flows, and working closely with Developers, Product Managers, and Tech Operations to continuously improve our platform.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys technical troubleshooting, digging into transaction data and logs, and ensuring high-quality payment experiences.

What you'll do

• Act as 3rd line support for Card Present payment issues.
• Perform QA testing of new features and releases in Flatpay’s in-house Payment Application.
• Monitor live payment transactions and investigate anomalies.
• Analyse transaction flows and perform deep dives into application and system logs to identify root causes.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Tech Operations to troubleshoot and resolve complex payment issues.
• Validate bug fixes and support regression testing before releases.
• Document findings, recurring issues, and recommended improvements.
• Assist with rollout and validation of new terminal functionality, payment features, and platform enhancements.
• Escalate issues to external partners or acquirers when required.

Who you are

• At least one year of experience within payments, fintech, technical support, or QA.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience investigating logs and transaction data to identify root causes.
• Structured approach to testing and validating software releases.
• Ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with payment terminals or Card Present payment flows.
• Familiarity with log analysis and monitoring tools.
• Experience with APIs.
• Understanding of transaction lifecycles, authorization, clearing, and settlement.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS is considered an advantage.
