About this opportunity

You’ll join the Capital, Liquidity and Reporting Risk Control (CLRRC) team within Group Financial Risk Management and Control department, which is part of Group Risk, Nordea’s 2nd line risk management function.

What you’ll be doing:

Designing, implementing and maintaining control frameworks on Nordea’s business model and capital management risk processes
Performing 2nd line of defence oversight and control of the Group’s 1st line risk management with respect to capital and strategy
Assisting in coordination of various annual ICAAP processes
Identifying business and strategic risks and linking to balance sheet and income statement forecasts and associated capital position
Providing assessment of new and emerging external business risks to the bank
Acting as a senior team member by providing guidance and leadership towards less experienced team members

The role is based in Helsinki, Warsaw or Copenhagen, with preference given to Helsinki and Warsaw

Your profile and background:

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the risks of a large international bank’s balance sheet and income drivers
5+ years of experience in banking finance (business or Group level) or 2nd LoD, ideally with involvement in capital management or strategy oversight
Very good understanding of bank capital regulatory environment and understanding of ICAAP
Good understanding of how capital, stress testing, and business strategy interact with one another, ideally with experience of embedding new ESG expectations into strategy oversight
Experience of creating/implementing 2nd line control frameworks and conducting control reviews desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ideally with exposure to senior management at Executive and Board level
Ability to train and develop colleagues
