Student Assistant at HUM:Global Faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen

HUM:Global, based at the South Campus of the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), is seeking a globally oriented student assistant to join a dynamic team working within the field of global humanities.

HUM:Global , initiated by the Faculty of Humanities on the South Campus, started in January 2024 and will be operational until December 2026 with the current funding. We are looking for a Copenhagen-based part-time student assistant, available to work during the autumn semester 2026. The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic team of researchers that aim to extend the lifespan of the initiative beyond 2026.

HUM:Global is a cross-faculty initiative that maps, harnesses, and stimulates researchers, projects, networks (both with external global partners and internally at KU), and centers at the Faculty of Humanities to generate and bring to life their greatest and most daring ideas on global processes and challenges. HUM:Global is co-creating projects and frameworks at the Faculty of Humanities, which substantially enhance our capacity to research and teach global subjects while increasing our visibility, standing and impact in wider society.

HUM:Global coordinates and collaborates on research-centered talks, lectures and cultural events as well as partnering on innovative research projects, providing research funding, and contributing to various networks. HUM:Global is led by a secretariat and a Professional Project Group (PPG) which consists of two academic staff from each of the faculty’s six departments.

Tasks may include:

• Academic and creative communication: In collaboration with the secretariat, develop and execute an effective communications plan for the autumn semester.
• Content Creation: Generate engaging content for HUM:Global’s website and social media platforms to highlight research projects, events, and achievements.
• Event Coordination : Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of events, workshops, and seminars that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Public Relations: Assist with communications and public relations activities under the guidance of experienced colleagues, including maintaining contact lists, preparing draft communication materials, and providing administrative support in connection with media and stakeholder outreach.

• Community Engagement: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community activities and events under supervision, including practical event support, participant communication, and related administrative tasks.

We envisage that you:

• Have a demonstrated interest in global affairs and a basic understanding of global approaches, processes and challenges
• Have completed a bachelor’s degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences
• Have a minimum of one year of MA studies remaining
• Have strong proven skills in written, visual and verbal communication, including in the use of online/ digital media
• Have a very high level of written and oral English
• Are able to work equally well in a team and independently
• Are able to relate to a widely diverse range of people in an international setting

Terms and conditions:
To be considered for the position, you must be enrolled and active as a student at an institution for higher education.

Working hours will be a minimum of 15 hours per week, distributed across two to four weekdays, but with a need for flexibility depending on the concentration of workload.

The position is limited to the autumn Semester 2026
