Within Business Critical Applications (BCA), we deliver Batch-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Technical Application Management (TAM) services for enterprise customers operating complex application landscapes across on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
We are expanding our team of Workload Automation experts supporting some of Denmark's most critical business processes through HCL Workload Automation (formerly IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler).
Role Overview
The Senior Operations Consultant serves as the technical authority for Workload Automation services across multiple customers and platforms.
The role combines technical leadership, advanced troubleshooting, customer consultancy, automation engineering, and project delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, security, and continuous evolution of complex batch environments while driving modernization initiatives, migrations, automation, and operational excellence.
This position focuses primarily on complex changes, projects, escalations, architecture input, and service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Service Ownership
- Act as the highest technical escalation point for complex Workload Automation environments.
- Drive resolution of systemic and non-standard batch scheduling issues.
- Establish standards, best practices, and governance models for enterprise scheduling services.
- Ensure service stability and SLA compliance for business-critical batch workloads.
- Mentor Operations Consultants and Advanced Operations Consultants across the BCA delivery organization.
Engineering & Platform Development
- Design and implement complex batch workflows, recovery strategies, and scheduling standards.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain HCL Workload Automation components
- Optimize scheduling performance, plan generation, and database usage.
Automation & Modernization

- Develop automation solutions (Shell scripting, PowerShell, Python)
- Design and support integrations with SAP, Databases, Middleware platforms, Cloud services andEnterprise applications
Projects & Transformations
- Lead complex implementation projects, upgrades, and migrations.
- Participate in customer onboarding activities and service transitions.
- Contribute to Batch-as-a-Service strategy and service development initiatives.
Customer Consultancy
- Act as trusted advisor to customers on workload automation strategy and operational maturity.
- Translate business requirements into sustainable automation solutions.
- Participate in architectural discussions and roadmap planning.
- Support service reviews, risk assessments, and continual improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise workload scheduling, technical operations
- Proven experience administering HCL Workload Automation (IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler).
- Experience delivering services across multiple customers or complex enterprise environments.
- Track record of leading technical projects, migrations, or modernization initiatives.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in:
- HCL Workload Automation (HWA) / IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler
- Linux and Windows server environments
- Enterprise batch scheduling concepts
- Shell, PowerShell, or Python automation
- Monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Incident and problem management practices
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- SAP scheduling integration
- SQL databases
