Senior Depositary Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Depositary Officer, you’ll play a key role in the independent oversight of alternative investment funds. Working within a regulated control framework, you’ll help ensure the funds we look after are administered in line with their regulatory and contractual obligations by monitoring compliance with applicable regulations and investment mandates, verifying ownership of fund assets, overseeing the calculation of fund value (NAV), and monitoring cash flows across your assigned funds. Beyond the controls, you’ll build and maintain strong client relationships taking real ownership of a portfolio of funds, understanding each client’s business, and acting as a trusted point of contact on service and delivery. You’ll typically take on our more complex clients and structures and act as a trusted expert your colleagues can turn to. You’ll report to the local Head of Depositary, Denmark, and work closely with colleagues across our Nordic and Luxembourg offices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Take ownership of the independent oversight of a portfolio of clients and funds
• Perform the core depositary controls: cash flow monitoring, ownership verification/safekeeping and oversight duties including independent verification of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and methodologies
• Monitor compliance with investment restrictions, fund rules and regulatory requirements
• Lead the response to incidents and breaches, and drive root-cause remediation and lasting improvement
• Support your clients across the fund lifecycle, from onboarding onwards to build strong client relationships
• Stay ahead of regulatory change and help shape how we respond to it
• Contribute to the development of our governance and control environment

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a professional with experience from the fund industry (typically 3–6 years’ experience) who values accuracy, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes real ownership of their work. Experience from depositary services or fund services would be an advantage.

YOU SHOULD:

• Have a relevant academic degree in law, economics, finance or a related field
• Have relevant experience in depositary services, fund oversight or fund administration from the fund industry
• Have solid knowledge of regulation relevant to the service, such as AIFMD, MiFID etc.
• Have strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse complex data
• Communicate clearly and work confidently across teams and stakeholders
• Be curious about how automation and AI can strengthen depositary controls and want to actively shape that development
• Take a proactive, hands-on approach and enjoy taking ownership of your work

It’s a plus if you:

• Have experience across both liquid and illiquid funds - spanning listed, liquid assets and private, illiquid strategies such as private equity, private credit and real assets
• Have experience with complex fund structures, or acting as a technical point of reference for colleagues
