Quantitative Trading Engineer – Clean Energy
We’re hiring a Quantitative Trading Engineer to help build and scale the next generation of fully automated short?term power trading systems. You’ll join a mission?driven climate?tech company reinventing how organisations access low?carbon electricity—bridging the gap between renewable generators and real?world energy demand to accelerate the transition to a net?zero power system.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of an autonomous trading operation that runs 24/7, 365 days a year. You’ll design, implement, and refine the trading strategies that drive real?world decarbonisation while generating sustainable, risk?managed P&L.

What you’ll be working on

You’ll take a leading role in advancing a high?performance automated trading engine operating across complex, fast?moving energy markets. You’ll own end?to?end strategy development—from research and modelling through to production deployment—and become a core expert in one of Europe’s most intricate markets.
Key responsibilities include:

• Build and evolve automated trading strategies , such as identifying intra?auction arbitrage opportunities or optimising bids for flexible assets in ancillary service markets.
• Develop deep market expertise , initially specialising in the German power market—its rules, TSO processes, behaviours, and edge cases—and convert that knowledge into algorithmic improvements.
• Write robust, production?grade Python code , analysing large datasets to uncover patterns, stress?test ideas, and iterate toward high?confidence strategies.
• Work in a highly collaborative engineering environment , partnering with machine learning specialists, software engineers, and commercial teams.
• Support commercial opportunities , offering technical and market insights that help shape proposals and secure new customer deals.
