Business Operations - Student Assistant

Ento helps organisations with large building portfolios use less energy. Our AI finds where energy is wasted across thousands of buildings and shows energy and facility managers what to fix first. Our customers cut their CO₂ emissions and save money at the same time. With one of the largest networks of buildings and real documented savings, we're in a position to bring energy management into the AI era faster than anyone else. Our customers include some of Europe's largest cities, international retail chains, social housing providers and real estate portfolios in Denmark, Italy, France and the UK. Ento monitors more than 70,000 buildings today, and together our customers have saved more than 25,000 tons of CO₂. We are backed by investors such as byFounders, The Footprint Firm, Voyager and AURA Ventures. We are a team of around 15 energy engineers, builders and operators across four countries, with offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Barcelona. Some of us are in the office most days, others come in now and then, and some work fully remote. We meet in person when it adds value, and otherwise we trust people to own their work.

THIS ROLE

Are you a student who wants to see up close how a fast-growing startup is run? As our student assistant, you'll work closely with Moritz, our COO, in Copenhagen on whatever matters most that week, from commercial and finance to customer projects. A lot of our operations run on connected tools and automations: our CRM, reporting, finance workflows and more. You'll help keep it all running. When something breaks, you fix it. When something could be automated, you build it. Some weeks that means cleaning up CRM data. Other weeks it's updating the forecast, or testing whether a new tool can take over a manual task. This is a big reason our revenue is growing much faster than our headcount, and it's on purpose. The work you do here has a direct effect on how the whole company runs. We use AI tools a lot, but we're not tied to them. Sometimes Zapier automation does the job. Sometimes it's a better spreadsheet, or just a simpler but clearer process. We want someone curious enough to figure out which one fits. You won't start from scratch and you won't be on your own. Most of our systems already work, and your job is to make them better and try new things. You don't need to know how to do it all from day one, as long as you enjoy learning.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You'll work on one or two projects at a time, and they'll change as our priorities do. A few past and upcoming examples:

• Building an automation that turns a signed contract into an invoice and onboarding plan, with no one copying data by hand
• Finding out which customers are quietly using the platform less, before their renewal comes up
• Setting up a bot that researches new leads and has a short brief ready before the first call
• Updating the forecast with fresh numbers and figuring out what changed and why
• Automating commission calculations or the hours reporting for our grant projects
• Digging into a new market, like what it would take to win Spanish municipalities
• Turning the savings from 1,000 buildings into a case study our sales team can actually use
• Testing new tools on real work, including whether they're safe with customer data, and telling us honestly if they're worth keeping

REQUIREMENTS

• Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's in business, economics, engineering, computer science or similar, with at least one year left
• You've built or improved something yourself, like an app, bot, website or process
• Interested in AI and automation, and able to tell when a tool helps and when it just adds complexity
• You like finishing things and care that the numbers are right
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Available 10 to 15 hours per week, with flexibility around exams
• Based in Copenhagen, with at least one office day a week

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, n8n, Attio, PostHog or Webflow or similar
• An internship or student job at a startup or in consulting, or experience in operations or finance
