The architecture behind a global logistics network

DSV moves goods, data and entire supply chains for customers in more than 90 countries, we are the world's largest transport and logistics company. A vital part of this is Contract Logistics, where we run warehousing, distribution and fulfilment across more than 1,600 warehouses and 16 million square metres.

You join Contract Logistics IT, where you will lead solution architecture across critical initiatives, mentor solution architects, and act as a key bridge between business strategy, IT strategy and IT implementations. This means collaborating broadly with key stakeholders at leadership level across both IT and the business.

Lead our most complex and critical solution architecture

You design and govern solutions at enterprise scale, make the tough calls when requirements are complex, and ensure that what is built is scalable, secure and compliant with DSV's IT standards. In everything you do, your main goal is to ensure smooth transformations and to remove as much complexity as possible.

The role is global, and you can be based in Europe (Denmark, Poland or Portugal).

What you will do -

Architecture Leadership & Strategy

• Lead architecture for strategic Contract Logistics transformation programs.
• Define target-state architectures, technology roadmaps, and transition plans.
• Drive application consolidation and IT landscape simplification initiatives.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and domain teams to implement architectural standards and governance.
• Ensure solutions balance business value, cost, risk, scalability, and sustainability.

Solution Design & Governance

• Translate business requirements into solution blueprints and architecture designs.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security requirements, infrastructure principles, integration standards, and business continuity requirements.
• Guide API-driven, loosely coupled, reusable solution designs.
• Govern complex integrations across legacy and modern platforms.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership.
• Present architecture strategies and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Support vendor evaluations, technology assessments, and strategic partnerships.
• Influence decision-making across global, cross-functional teams.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Mentor Solution Architects and senior technical professionals.
• Drive architectural excellence, reusable designs, and consistent documentation practices.
• Build and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Risk & Delivery Oversight

• Support delivery teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks.
• Ensure non-functional requirements such as security, resilience, performance, availability, and cost efficiency are addressed.

Innovation & Modernization

• Drive modernization initiatives utilizing cloud, integration, automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Champion cloud-first, API-first, and microservice-based approaches where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize the Contract Logistics technology landscape.

You are an architect with leadership presence

Even though you might be collaborating remotely with several of your key stakeholders, you are able to set a clear direction and build the necessary understanding among everyone involved. Thanks to your ability to prioritise strategically, you keep progress on track in our fast-paced environment, however technically complex the solution.

It is a strong advantage if you have experience in logistics, transportation and supply chain – and a major plus if you know warehouse management or contract logistics in practice.

In addition, we imagine that you:

• have extensive IT experience, with at least 5+ years in Solution Architecture, Lead Architecture, and Enterprise Architecture roles.
• have led large-scale, complex, global IT initiatives
• Experience managing complex application landscapes and IT consolidation programs.
• have worked in the Contract Logistics domain and/or enterprise architecture in a large company
• have a firm command of TOGAF, ArchiMate, cloud platforms, security-by-design and IT landscape management
• have influenced architecture at programme or portfolio level
