SAP Finance Solution Architect

At Blue Water Shipping, we are in the midst of a major digital transformation programme (BlueCore) and are preparing for an SAP S/4HANA and TMS implementation, where SAP will play a central role in our financial setup and enable the business to operate efficiently, meet financial requirements, and scale globally.

We are looking for a SAP Finance Solution Architect with a strong functional SAP FI background and an architectural mindset. Whether you are a seasoned architect or a senior SAP FI/CO Consultant ready to take the next step, what matters most to us is your ability to think holistically , take ownership , and lead solution design in close collaboration with the business. About the role
As SAP Finance Solution Architect, you will take architectural ownership of SAP Finance within our BlueCore programme, where we are implementing SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud based on fit-to-standard and clean-core principles.

A key part of the role is working closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to proactively identify opportunities, challenges, and solutions—translating business needs into scalable and future-proof SAP Finance solutions.

You will act as the architectural lead who ensures coherence across end-to-end finance processes while balancing business value, standardization, and long-term sustainability.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and owning SAP Finance solution design across end-to-end finance processes.
• Proactively collaborating with the Product Owner and business to identify and shape optimal solutions.
• Translating business requirements into scalable, fit-to-standard SAP solutions.
• Acting as an architectural authority in projects, enhancements, and major changes.
• Ensuring alignment between finance process design and overall enterprise architecture.
• Contributing to building strong internal SAP Finance application capability post go-live.

Your background
You may be a strong SAP FICO Consultant with solid solution design experience, ready to step into an architecture role or you may already be working as a SAP Finance Architect and looking to take ownership in a major transformation programme. But most importantly, you are an experienced SAP Finance professional with an architectural and holistic mindset who enjoys taking responsibility and navigating the space between business and technology. You are confident in engaging with stakeholders and motivated by shaping solutions that work not only today, but also tomorrow.

Must have requirements:

• Solid experience within SAP Finance.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA (Public Cloud, Private Cloud, or On-Premises).
• Experience leading solution design, acting as consultant, solution lead, or architect.
• The ability to translate business strategy into robust SAP solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud or GROW with SAP.
• SAP Finance / S/4HANA professional certification.
• Knowledge of fit-to-standard and clean-core principles.
• Familiarity with CBC, SSCUIs, and SAP Cloud ALM.
• Exposure to APIs, integration patterns, or SAP BTP.

Practicalities
Blue Water Shipping is headquartered in Esbjerg, Denmark, with IT hubs in Esbjerg, Aarhus, and Gdansk. While this position is based in Gdansk, the BlueCore implementation is primarily driven from Esbjerg. Therefore, occasional travel to Esbjerg should be expected for key implementation activities such as workshops, design sessions, and roll-out collaboration. Beyond this, we offer flexibility in day-to-day working arrangements.
