At DHL Global Forwarding, customs is not just about declarations – it is about ensuring compliant and efficient global trade flows across borders, customers and authorities.

As our new Customs Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring that customs formalities are handled accurately, professionally and in accordance with both internal procedures and public authority requirements. You will work closely with customers, authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure timely customs handling and a high level of compliance.

You will become part of a professional and experienced team, where collaboration, responsibility and quality are essential parts of the daily work.

The physical work location is in Hedegaardsvej, Copenhagen S.

Your key responsibilities in the role will be to:

• Create and handle customs import and export shipments
• Register temporary import customs declarations
• Prepare various customs certificates (EUR, ATA CERNET, ATR, T2L etc.)
• Settle transit documents and close NCTS cases
• Handle applications regarding customs refunds, import licenses and corrections
• Ensure customs clearance within agreed deadlines – both internally and externally
• Support follow-up and maintenance of customs warehouse accounts and AEO-related activities
• Participate in department meetings and customer meetings
• Maintain updated customs knowledge through internal and external training activities
• Maintain ongoing dialogue with customs authorities and DHL Global Forwarding customers

• Works in a structured and detail-oriented manner
• Understands the importance of compliance and accuracy
• Capable of balancing quality and deadlines in a dynamic operational environment
• Communicates professionally with both customers and authorities
• Takes ownership and follows tasks through to completion
• Enjoys both independent work and collaboration across teams

We expect you to…

• Have experience within customs clearance and customs-related processes
• Be fluent in Danish and English, both verbally and in writing
• Experience from freight forwarding or logistics is considered an advantage
• Completion of the “Told”-education from Danske Speditører is an advantage, but not a requirement

Working hours: The position is a full-time position

The compensation package:

The base salary is determined by your qualifications and competencies. The position is graded and sits within a predefined payband. Besides the base salary you will have – just to mentioned a few of the benefits - a pension scheme, bonus scheme, 25+5 vacation days per year, and a “Fritvalgskonto” (a “saving account” equal to 10% of your annual salary) paid out in December.
