As Director, Head of Portfolio Management, you will establish and lead a strategic portfolio management function that enables smarter investment decisions, drives cross-functional alignment, and ensures our engineering and workplace initiatives deliver maximum business value.

Core Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing Portfolio Management function, establishing governance, standards, and ways of working across Engineering, Operations, Workplace, and large-scale capacity expansion projects.

• Own the end-to-end portfolio lifecycle, from demand intake and prioritisation to dependency management, delivery oversight, and benefits realisation.

• Define and drive the portfolio management strategy, including the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of our enterprise portfolio management system.

• Partner with senior leaders across Engineering, Operations, Technology, and Workplace to ensure investment priorities align with strategic objectives and business needs.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Portfolio Managers, fostering a high-performing culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Deliver meaningful portfolio insights, reporting, and governance that enable informed decision-making and transparent investment management.

• Proactively identify and manage portfolio risks, constraints, and cross-functional dependencies to support successful delivery.

• Champion continuous improvement by strengthening portfolio processes, governance, tools, and capabilities to increase organisational maturity.

Do You Have What It Takes?

You are a strategic portfolio leader who combines strong business acumen with the ability to bring clarity, alignment, and structure to complex investment portfolios.

You bring:

• Extensive experience in portfolio management, programme leadership, or investment governance within large, complex organisations.

• A proven track record of building or transforming portfolio management capabilities and operating models.

• Strong leadership experience, with the ability to develop high-performing teams and influence senior stakeholders across global matrix organisations.

• Expertise in portfolio planning, prioritisation, investment governance, and strategic roadmap development.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex portfolios into clear insights that support executive decision-making.

• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills, enabling alignment across diverse functions and leadership teams.

• Experience implementing portfolio management frameworks, governance models, and enterprise portfolio management systems.

• A collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and organisational change.

It will be an advantage if you have:

• Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing, supply chain, or other capital-intensive environments.

• Experience working in PMO or enterprise portfolio management functions within global organisations.

• Knowledge of LEAN, change management, or continuous improvement methodologies.

• Experience leading digital transformation or implementation of enterprise portfolio management platforms.
