R&D Senior Manager - Mechanics

Radiometer, a Danaher operating company, seeks an R&D Senior Manager – Mechanics to lead a team of engineers delivering mechanical solutions for diagnostic platforms. The role combines technical leadership, team development, and execution excellence for new product development and lifecycle management initiatives in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design, development, and manufacturing transfer for parts and assemblies
- Provide technical leadership and expert guidance to engineering team and cross-functional partners
- Oversee new product development and lifecycle management mechanical roadmaps
- Coach and develop R&D mechanics team while building talent pipeline and capabilities
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement across mechanical development activities
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- More than 7 years developing products in regulated environments
- Deep mechanical engineering expertise with ability to define technical strategy
- Experience managing complex integrated systems and high-volume consumables
- Demonstrated success working with external suppliers and development partners
- 5+ years in medical device or in vitro diagnostic industry preferred
- Knowledge of design methodologies including DfX, FMEA, and tolerance analysis
