People Operations Associate @ Understory

So she started a company offering cooking classes for locals and tourists. The venue is authentic and beautiful - her taste is unique and welcoming. The classes are thoughtfully designed. Every detail is considered. And the bookings start to tick in. It works. Laura gets to do what she loves, creating strong memories for people from all over the world. But she is also starting to struggle. Managing participants. Hiring and training instructors. Chasing invoices. And the quiet pressure underneath it all: making sure more bookings arrive tomorrow than today. That passion, and that struggle, is what Understory is built on. Understory is a vertical-focused, multi-product operating system for experience businesses. With it, creators like Laura manage operations, accept payments, build beautiful websites, and automatically grow bookings across channels. Even the bookkeeping runs itself. There are hundreds of thousands of Lauras across Europe and beyond, and no one has built the platform they deserve, yet. We intend to. We have the product, customers in 10+ countries, and a recently raised €12m Series A to be the driving force in a fragmented market. Building that takes people. Soon we are 100 of them, across three offices and three countries. This role is about making sure every one of them is set up to do the best work of their career - from the day they sign to the day they move on.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting directly to Lasse, co-founder and CEO, you will:

• Register new colleagues, changes and leavers in our HR system, and keep the data correct.
• Handle contracts, onboarding and offboarding using templates and checklists.
• Collect monthly payroll inputs and send them to our payroll providers.
• Keep holiday and absence registrations in order.
• Help with interview scheduling and review cycles.
• Find the manual, repetitive tasks and figure out how the system can do them instead.

YOU ARE PROBABLY THE RIGHT PERSON IF YOU

• Are early in your career, for example just out of school or on a sabbatical year, and want a real job with real responsibility.
• Love systems, spreadsheets and figuring out how things work, and get a kick out of making a process faster and smarter.
• Get annoyed when data is wrong or something is done the hard way.
• Follow through, and can keep confidential information to yourself.
• Speak and write Danish and English.

WHAT YOU GET
