Startup Coach & Fintech Ambassador - DTU Skylab

DTU Skylab is looking for an experienced Startup Coach & Fintech Ambassador with a strong background in building digital products and platforms across fintech, SaaS, or payment infrastructure, combined with experience in AI-enabled business models. You will join our Startup Coaching Team, coaching early-stage founders on problem framing, validation, and go-to-market readiness, facilitating applied workshops, and supporting DTU students and researchers in turning ideas into scalable digital ventures. In addition, you will contribute to our partnership with Copenhagen Fintech, connecting relevant DTU cases and founders to activities and opportunities in the fintech ecosystem. As part of this collaboration, you will work 1-2 days per week from the Copenhagen Fintech Lab on Christianshavn.

About the Position
You will become part of a small but ambitious team working with early-stage founders across all domains at DTU. The core of your job will be:

• Coaching digital and tech-enabled startups through structured 1:1 sessions, helping teams navigate challenges around value proposition, customer insight, guiding founders on product-market fit, MVP strategy, digital architecture, AI-enabled workflows, and business model validation
• Running and developing workshops within early-stage startup skills, with special focus on digital impact and AI

In addition to the general startup support, you will serve as DTU's Fintech Ambassador within our partnership with Copenhagen Fintech. Here, your role is to strengthen the bridge between DTU's entrepreneurial environment and the fintech sector, for example by:

• Identifying and guiding relevant fintech-oriented cases at DTU
• Building and maintaining a fintech network with researchers and students at DTU
• Introducing startup teams as well as students and researchers to relevant Copenhagen Fintech offerings, events, activities and projects
• Participating in the cross-institution ambassador team and collaborate to attract funding and resources from the financial sector for research projects, hackathons, educational programs, etc

Your weekly presence at the Copenhagen Fintech Lab will be 1-2 days per week, depending on activity needs.
We Expect That You Have:

• A relevant academic background in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent senior professional experience
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as an entrepreneur or in building and operating digital products and technology startups, ideally within fintech, SaaS, data platforms, or AI-enabled services
• Experience working within the startup ecosystem and collaborating with partners such as incubators, accelerators, or corporate innovation environments
• Solid working knowledge of digital product development across fintech, SaaS, or payment infrastructure contexts, including data-driven business models, responsible AI, and AI-assisted workflows, as well as the ability to bridge technical and digital systems thinking with commercial strategy and go-to-market execution
• Experience coaching and mentoring early-stage founders in both 1:1 and group settings, with a structured approach to sparring on product strategy, business model decisions, and go-to-market readiness
• Ability to design and deliver applied workshops on digital product strategy, validation frameworks, and early-stage execution
• A structured, collaborative, and proactive work style
• Strong communication skills in Danish and English
• A passion for helping young entrepreneurs and contributing to positive societal impact

DTU Skylab is the innovation hub of DTU, a vibrant community supporting diverse activities such as curricular courses, company collaborations, and startup programs. Since 2013, Skylab has been an engaging and inclusive learning space with offices, teaching, event facilities, multiple workshops, and laboratories.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary and employment terms are according to the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or other relevant agreement.

The position is full-time but limited to 2 years. Desired starting date is 1 April 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will refer to the Team Lead of the Startup Coaching Team.

Your workplace will primarily be DTU Lyngby Campus, with 1-2 days per week at the Copenhagen Fintech Lab, Christianshavn.
