Postdoctoral Fellow in Cardiac Fibrosis Genomics
Department of Biomedical Sciences
Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
University of Copenhagen
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc for a 2-year position, commencing on the 1st of February 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The project
Cardiac fibrosis is a major driver of heart failure and a common endpoint of many forms of cardiac injury and disease. This project will use zebrafish as a model organism to dissect the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac fibrosis, connecting findings from human genetic studies to functional validation in vivo. The work will draw on bioinformatic analysis of human genetic and multi-omics data, RNA sequencing, and proteomic approaches, combined with zebrafish genetics, imaging, and functional assays, to identify and characterize genes and pathways that drive fibrotic remodeling of the heart.
Our research group
The Cardiac Functional Genomics Group at the University of Copenhagen studies the genetic and molecular basis of heart disease, integrating human genetic discoveries with mechanistic studies in the zebrafish model system. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team and lead a project on the genomics of cardiac fibrosis.
