Kid-friendly Senior Developer / Tech Lead ✨

FLIMMER IS LOOKING FOR A SENIOR DEVELOPER/TECH LEAD WHO CARES ABOUT KIDS AND CODE Join as our key technical hire and help shape the product, the stack, and the team. We’ve launched on iOS. We’ve got 8,000+ users. And we’re just getting started. Now we’re looking for a senior developer to join our core team — not just to build with us, but to help set the direction for how we build everything moving forward.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING

Flimmer ✨ is a social video app for kids aged 6–12 that turns screen time into play and learning Think of it as a digital clubhouse where kid-friendly creators teach kids anything from science to street dance — through videos that are fun, safe, and packed with curiosity. We’re building the next-gen kids’ media that promotes active screen time: content that makes kids think, ask questions, play, and create themselves.

YOUR ROLE

This isn't just any dev role. This is a chance to really get your hands dirty and make a significant impact. While much of the groundwork is in place, we're still in rapid development. You’ll work closely with the founders and existing team as the tech lead to shape what Flimmer becomes — both as a product and as a company.

THE STACK YOU WILL BE WORKING IN:

• TypeScript
• React Native (via Expo)
• Convex backend

Experience with these specific technologies isn't mandatory, but you should be comfortable with modern tools and feel at ease in a strongly typed codebase.

YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

• Have solid experience as a fullstack or product-minded developer
• Get exited by setting the tone for both team and tech
• Believe kids deserve great, responsible products and better screen time
• Like fast feedback loops and real user testing (kids are brutal! )
• Want to influence not just our code, but our culture

HOW WE WORK

We’re small – and we like it that way. It means we make fast decisions, ship quickly, and talk to our users every week. We like to ship fast and we put new features in kids’ hands every other week. It’s sometimes a bit messy (on purpose), because we care about what actually works — not just what looks pretty in Figma.
