C++ Software Engineer (Energy Trading)
SCR is recruiting on behalf of IMC, one of the world’s most successful trading firms, as they build a new Energy Trading business in Aarhus, Denmark, the hub for power and gas trading in Europe. This new venture combines the energy and autonomy of a startup with the global reach, stability, and expertise of IMC’s 30+ years in trading.
IMC is establishing a strong, independent Aarhus-based team with local leadership, supported by the company’s world-class technology, quantitative research capabilities, and trading infrastructure. To support their ambitious growth plans, IMC is seeking talented Software Engineers to join the team and play a pivotal role in building and scaling this new business.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Build, as part of a team, a full technology stack that supports energy trading, including exchange connectivity, trading systems, trading strategies, data analysis, and pricing. IMC is looking for strong developers who specialize in back-end development, algorithms, trading systems, execution systems, or other relevant domains.
- Maintain and continuously improve the technology stack in close collaboration with traders.
- Support and mentor new team members as the organization grows.
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong academic background, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative field.
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Strong programming skills in C++ or a comparable language such as Rust.
- Experience with other relevant programming languages such as Python or Java is considered a plus.
- Experience in the European energy trading industry is a plus.
- Fluency in English.
