PR Specialist to BYD Denmark

The Team

We are in the early stages of building up the Danish National Sales Company (NSC) of BYD Europe. As part of this journey, we are looking for a PR Specialist to support the development of BYD's brand presence and public relations activities in Denmark, with potential involvement in other Nordic markets.

This role will report to the local Marketing Manager in Denmark.

About the Role

The PR Specialist will support the planning and execution of public relations and communications activities in Denmark, working closely with the local Marketing team and the European Marketing & PR team. The role will focus on building strong media relationships, increasing brand and product visibility, and supporting the growth of BYD's presence in Denmark and, where required, other Nordic markets. This position will report to the Marketing Manager in Denmark.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of local PR and communications plans in alignment with European marketing and PR strategies.

• Build and maintain relationships with local media, journalists, digital influencers, agencies, and relevant industry stakeholders to strengthen brand visibility and product awareness.

• Coordinate the preparation and distribution of press releases, media materials, product information, key messages, and other communication content, ensuring consistency with BYD's brand positioning.

• Support the planning and execution of media events, press conferences, vehicle launches, test-drive activities, and other brand communication initiatives.

• Coordinate vehicle and test-drive arrangements for media representatives, influencers, and other relevant stakeholders in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

• Monitor media coverage, social media discussions, competitor activities, and market trends; provide regular reporting and insights to support local communications planning.

• Support the management of PR agencies, media partnerships, and influencer collaborations, ensuring effective execution and efficient use of resources.

• Work closely with the local sales and dealer network to support PR initiatives, product communication, and brand-building activities that contribute to business objectives.

• Collaborate with the European Marketing & PR team and relevant Nordic market teams on regional campaigns, events, and communication projects, adapting content to local market needs where necessary.

• Support the coordination of communication activities and responses to media inquiries, escalating sensitive issues and potential reputational risks to the relevant stakeholders.

• Track PR performance and prepare reports on media coverage, brand visibility, audience engagement, and campaign effectiveness.

Main Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Relevant experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or media relations; experience in the automotive industry or a branded consumer products business is preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and engaging communication materials for different audiences.

• Excellent spoken and written skills in Danish and English are required.

• Good understanding of the Danish media landscape, digital communication channels, and local market dynamics.

• Experience working with media agencies, journalists, influencers, or external communication partners is an advantage.

• Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and meet deadlines.

• Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and international teams.

• Resilient, adaptable, and open-minded, with an interest in electric mobility and the automotive industry.

• Willingness to travel occasionally within Denmark and potentially to other Nordic countries or European locations as required.
