As mentioned, we are looking for student employees for multiple areas in our Trading department. You could be working in one or more of the following areas: Quantitative Analysis , Business Development , Trading Engineering (IT) , Algo Development and Trading Operations . Student Data Analyst
You will become a part of a team with a focus on data handling, modelling, and forecasting of all elements of the power and commodity market. In this role, you will split your time between the Data Foundation and Quantitative Analysis teams – making it a unique opportunity for a cross-disciplinary profile who sees value in working across different roles and perspectives.

The Data Foundation team ensures that high-quality data is available, reliable, and accessible. Their work involves building scalable data pipelines, maintaining data infrastructure, and integrating large volumes of market, weather, and operational data into robust platforms that serve the rest of the organization.

The Quantitative Analysis team focuses on developing models and analytical tools to support market decision-making. They work with time series modelling, forecasting algorithms, statistical analysis, and simulations – all with the goal of improving our understanding of market dynamics and providing actionable insights to the trading floor.

You will face plenty of opportunities to improve your data-, analytics-, and coding-skills through relevant tasks, and you will be responsible for implementing robust and efficient solutions from an early stage – with support from the rest of the team. Our most important role is to assist our traders in making the best decisions in the market.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collection of data from various sources

• Structuring and maintenance of data in databases

• Analyzing and interpreting market data to uncover key patterns, trends, and relationships

What it takes to succeed in Quantitative Analysis:

• A strong interest in data and analytics

• A strong skill set in at least one coding language

Student Machine Learning Analyst
Are you passionate about machine learning and time series forecasting? Join our Quantitative Analysis team and apply your skills in a high-impact, real-world environment where predictive models drive trading decisions in volatile power and energy markets.

As a student analyst, you will work alongside experienced quantitative analysts and data scientists to develop, tune, and maintain ML models that forecast key market variables — including power prices, renewable generation, and system imbalances. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone eager to apply their ML knowledge in a commercial setting and refine their engineering and evaluation skills through direct feedback loops from trading.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the development and refinement of machine learning models for time series regression

• Performing hyperparameter tuning, cross-validation, and performance benchmarking using production-like datasets

• Evaluating model performance using appropriate metrics (e.g., MAE, MAPE, RMSE)

• Supporting the retraining and monitoring of existing models to ensure robustness and adaptability in changing market conditions

• Collaborating with quants to improve feature engineering pipelines, data preprocessing, and reproducibility standards

• Documenting model workflows and contributing to internal best practices in time series ML

What it takes to succeed in Quantitative Analysis:

• Strong interest in machine learning and applied forecasting with a focus on time series data

• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, or PyTorch)

• Knowledge of model tuning, cross-validation, and diagnostics in an applied context

• Familiar with time series modeling challenges (e.g., data leakage, autocorrelation, non-stationarity)

Student Business Developer
You will join our Business Development team that focuses on identifying and pursuing new opportunities for market expansion, partnerships, and revenue growth. You will analyze markets, assess potential collaborations, and work to enhance the company's overall market position and profitability.

Additionally, the business development team collaborates with key stakeholders, negotiates contracts, and develops strategic initiatives to ensure the company's sustained competitiveness and success in the dynamic power trading industry. You will also contribute to improving internal procedures within existing markets, and to ensure efficient communication with multiple departments within Mind Energy.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting market research and developing business cases for new markets
• Performing cost analysis to optimize operational efficiency and financial decision-making
• Driving internationalization projects from start to finish
• Understanding and communicating rules and legislations
• Managing trade contracts with external parties
• Contributing to creativity and innovation at Mind Energy

Student DevOps Engineer
Join our Trading Systems team as a DevOps-focused student assistant, where you’ll help build and maintain the infrastructure and automation pipelines that support power trading at scale. Our team is responsible for developing and operating robust software systems that enable efficient trading and data handling. As a DevOps student, you’ll work at the intersection of development, operations, and infrastructure, supporting a fast-moving trading environment.

This role is ideal for students who are curious about how large-scale, business-critical systems run in production — and who enjoy solving real-world problems using code, automation, and cloud-native tools.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) for deploying services

• Setting up monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system uptime and early detection of issues

• Managing containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) for development and production

• Supporting infrastructure-as-code efforts to automate setup and deployment

Join our high-performance trading technology team as a student assistant focused on algorithmic trading development. In this role, you’ll work on building the core engines that execute trades in the market, handling real-time data streams, and ensuring compliance, stability, and performance in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be part of the team that directly contributes to automated decision-making, collaborating with quantitative analysts and traders to turn ideas into live strategies through reliable, efficient, and well-monitored code.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and maintaining algorithmic trading engines in C++ and Python, with a strong focus on low-latency and robustness

You will be part of Trading Operations, a department that assists traders by handling operational tasks, ensuring accurate trade execution, and providing operational support to facilitate smooth and efficient trading operations for the traders. In recent years, the team has had a significant focus on rethinking the entire support and trading structure. In turn, the team has predominately been occupied with optimizing business processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in coordinating communication between various internal departments and external stakeholders to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the trading process.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Scheduling and balancing of trades and flows

• Interacting with counterparties and regulatory authorities

• Driving own optimization projects

• Developing and maintaining tools through VBA and/or other programming languages

What it takes to succeed in Trading Operations:

• An outgoing personality and the ability to speak up when needed

• A flair for numbers and IT
