The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as Academic Employee in the field of in Immunology and Physiology as per 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a full-time, fixed-term position for four years, established to support the relocation of the laboratory from the United States to Denmark and its successful establishment in Denmark. An extension may be a possibility. The candidate should be prepared to spend an initial 3–6-month period in the laboratory at its current location in New York City. This temporary placement will provide an opportunity to receive hands-on training in the methods important to the research project

About the research project
The lab explores how immune cell function is regulated by ion channels and transporters. These studies involve the identification and characterization of channels and transporters in T and B lymphocytes, investigation of the molecular mechanisms by which these ICTs control cell signaling, metabolism and gene expression, and determining their physiological roles in the context of immune responses to infection, in autoimmunity and antitumor immunity. Methods used in the lab include molecular and cell biology, transcriptomics, epigenomics and metabolomics, bioinformatics, immune fluorescence imaging, electrophysiology, and animal models of immunity in health and disease. The lab's research has consistently been published in leading scientific journals. The lab provides a supportive, stimulating, and scientifically rigorous environment, where scientists at all career levels can grow and develop their careers. Your job responsibilities
As Academic Employee (AC TAP), your primary tasks are general lab management, oversight of the lab's colony of transgenic mice and conducting experiments in the area of molecular and cell biology to assist postdocs and students in their projects as needed. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.

Your main tasks will consist of:

• Research support within specific areas
• Administrative responsibilities
• Project work assisting students and postdoctoral fellows with their research projects.

You will report to the Principal Investigator of the lab.

Your competences
You have a background in Immunology and/or Physiology and experience with the following:

General lab management (including supervision of students, compliance and regulatory affairs, ordering & stocking of lab supplies)

Breeding, handling and analysis of transgenic mice.

Molecular and cell biology techniques including (but not limited to) PCR, cloning of recombinant DNA, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, flow cytometry (FACS), protein biochemistry such as Western blotting and IP, fluorescence microscopy and/or live-cell imaging.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.

We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.
