Postdoc Position in Human Factors in Cybersecurity & Privacy (DIREC project NAST)

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in human factors in cybersecurity. The position has a duration of up to one year. The hired candidates will be part of the section of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Programming Languages (ACP, ), an ambitious group that fosters collaboration, research excellence, and quality education.

The proposed starting time is Autumn 2026 or Winter 2026/27, with room for flexibility.

This position is tied to the DIREC project “Next Generation AI-Assisted Software Teams”. The project aims to investigate the use of AI tools in software development teams, changes in team dynamics, and how to support developers in identifying code that would introduce security vulnerabilities into the team’s codebase. To this end, the project consists of an interdisciplinary team spanning the University of Southern Denmark and the IT University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will work at the University of Southern Denmark with the project’s co-principal investigator Associate Professor Peter Mayer.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate interested in human factors in cybersecurity and privacy. The ideal candidate has (or is nearing completion of) a PhD in Computer Science, Psychology, or another relevant field and experience in at least one of the following areas:

• Qualitative user studies with software developers.
  • Quantitative user studies with software developers.
  • Design of interfaces that assess the trustworthiness of information.
  • User trust in software and systems.
  • Software security.
