Finance & Administration Manager

The position
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance & Administration Manager who can take ownership of our day-to-day finance function and ensure high quality across accounting, reporting, budgeting and cash management. In addition, you will support our HR administration and help keep the broader organization running efficiently.

The role:

Finance will be your primary responsibility. You will independently manage the operational finance function and work closely with management on reporting, forecasting and financial decision-making. The role doesn’t have managerial responsibility.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Finance & Accounting

• Own the day-to-day finance function, including bookkeeping, invoicing, payments, payroll and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and ensure accurate and timely financial statements
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and ongoing variance analysis
• Own cash management, liquidity planning and cash-flow forecasting
• Maintain financial controls and ensure high quality and accuracy across the finance function
• Prepare business and financial analyses to support management decisions
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, payroll providers, tax advisers and other external partners
• Support management and the Board with relevant financial reporting and analysis
• Continuously improve and automate financial processes, systems and workflows

HR & Administration

• Manage practical employee administration, including employment contracts, payroll input, holidays, onboarding and offboarding
• Maintain employee documentation and support management with day-to-day HR processes
• Coordinate suppliers, subscriptions, insurance and other company agreements
• Support practical office administration across Copenhagen and Odense
• Take ownership of ad-hoc administrative matters and ensure that things get done

About you
You have solid hands-on accounting and finance experience and are comfortable independently running the finance function of a company.

You understand the full financial cycle – from bookkeeping and reconciliations to management reporting, budgets, forecasts and cash management – and you are equally comfortable working with the details and providing management with a clear financial overview.

You are likely to have experience from a smaller or mid-sized company where finance requires both hands-on execution and financial oversight, or you have experience from an accounting company .

You are:

• Strong in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and cash-flow management
• Highly proficient in Excel/spreadsheets and comfortable working with modern financial systems
• Structured, analytical and reliable, with strong attention to detail
• Commercially minded and able to understand the business behind the numbers
• Comfortable taking ownership and working independently
• Pragmatic and hands-on – no task is too small when it needs to get done
• A confident communicator in both Danish and English
• Comfortable supporting HR and administration alongside your core finance responsibilities

The role offers a high degree of independence and flexibility, with the opportunity to work from either Copenhagen or Odense and from home 2–3 days per week .

You will work closely with Cardlay's management team and have the opportunity to influence how we structure and develop our finance and administrative functions as the company evolves.
