AI ENGINEER

AI is moving from prototypes to production-ready solutions. The engineers who can take it there matter more than ever. At Heyra, we build operational AI: systems, workflows, and data platforms that live in production from day one. We work with companies that are moving quickly and need solutions that improve the way they operate. We're looking for an AI Engineer who is as comfortable in the code as in the data underneath it. Someone who can design, build, and ship AI solutions today, and grow into setting technical direction as the company grows. On smaller engagements, you may be the only engineer on the project, which means owning it from problem to production yourself. On larger ones, you'll work closely with engineers, data specialists, strategists, and designers in a company where ideas move quickly, and the distance from thinking to building is intentionally small.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

• Designing and deploying AI solutions across domains like finance, operations, and supply chain
• Building predictive models, automated workflows, and agentic systems
• Owning the data work behind your own models and agents
• Building eval systems that measure whether an agent actually works
• Leading client projects from problem to production
• Translating business needs into AI solutions that actually ship
• Integrating scalable AI systems through APIs and cloud environments

REQUIREMENTS

You probably have experience with

• Software development, ML or data engineering, with AI applications running in production
• Fluent Python and at least one agent framework or SDK
• Training ML models and handling the data preparation behind them
• Building or extending eval systems for agent behaviour
• Building scalable systems in cloud environments like Azure or GCP
• Coding with agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor
• Stakeholder management and leading delivery end-to-end
